1. What the form collects
The seller form on this site asks for five things: your full name, your email address, your phone number, the street address of the property you are considering selling, and the window of the day you would prefer a call in.
When you pick your address from the autocomplete suggestions, we also store the components of that address (street, unit, city, county, state, and ZIP code) and the Google place identifier for it. When you type the address yourself, we store the components you typed and no place identifier.
We store a normalized form of the address that is used only to recognize when two submissions are about the same house. It is never displayed.
If you send us your details by email instead of through the form, we keep the message and handle the details in it the same way.
2. What we record about the submission itself
At the moment you submit the form we write one consent record. It holds the version of the disclosure text that was on the screen under the submit button, a cryptographic hash of that exact text, the IP address the submission came from, the browser user agent string, the page URL you submitted from, and the time.
That record exists so that, if there is ever a question about a call you received, we can show exactly what you were shown and when.
3. How we use it
We use what you give us to pass your request to a licensed real estate agent or office that works your area, to email you a copy of your request, to recognize when the same house is submitted twice, to keep automated and false submissions out, and to answer a question about a call you received.
We also count page views and form starts to see how the site is used. Those counts carry no name, email address, phone number, or property address.
4. Who your details go to
Selling Houses is not a real estate brokerage, is not an agency, and is not a party to any real estate transaction.
When your property is inside the area we cover, we send your name, email address, phone number, property address, and preferred call window to one or more licensed real estate agents or real estate offices that work that area. Each of them is an independent business. They are not employed by us and we do not supervise their work.
Those agents and offices may contact you about selling the property by phone call, text message, or email.
When your property is outside the area we cover, we keep your request. If our coverage later reaches your area, we may send it to an agent or office that works there at that time.
Once your details reach an agent or office, what they do with them is governed by their own privacy practices, not ours.
5. Other disclosures
We disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to a subpoena or other legal process, or when we need to protect someone's safety or our own legal rights.
If the business that runs this site is sold, merged, or reorganized, the records described here may pass to the new operator. This policy keeps applying to them until it is changed in the way described below.
6. What we do not do
We do not send marketing email. The only messages this site sends are the acknowledgment that answers your own submission and the internal notification that goes to us.
We do not ask for or store payment details, government identifiers, or documents. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
7. Third parties this site uses
Google address autocomplete. The address field sends what you type to Google so it can suggest addresses. That happens as you type, before you submit anything, and it happens even if you never submit the form. To show addresses near you first, the site also sends Google an approximate point, rounded to about 11 kilometers, that Cloudflare estimates from your IP address. We do not store that point. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
Cloudflare Turnstile. Every submission passes a bot check run by Cloudflare. It never asks you to solve a puzzle. Most visitors pass without a click, and some are asked to tick one box. Cloudflare's handling of the data that check collects is described in the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum at https://www.cloudflare.com/application-services/products/turnstile-privacy-addendum/ and in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare hosting and email. This site runs on Cloudflare, and the mail it sends goes through Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes requests and messages on our behalf.
9. How we protect it
This site is served only over HTTPS. Access to the database and to the mailbox that receives new requests is limited to the people who operate this site. No system is completely secure, and we cannot promise that yours will never be exposed.
10. How long we keep records
We keep the lead record, its consent record, and the delivery record of the messages we sent about it for as long as we are working in this coverage area, so that we can answer a question about a call you received.
We have not set a fixed deletion schedule, and rather than publish a period we do not yet hold ourselves to, this section says so plainly. If that changes, this policy changes with it and the version at the bottom of this page changes too.
11. Asking us about your record
Email contact@sellinghouses.net and say what you would like. A person reads that mailbox on business days.
We can tell you what we hold about a property address or an email address, correct it, or delete it. A deletion covers the record in our database and the copy of it in the mailbox the notification was delivered to.
We can also mark a record so that no further message is sent to you from this site, and so the note travels with the record.
If you would rather an agent or office did not contact you, tell us and tell them. We can stop sending your details on, and we can record that you asked, but we do not control the phone or inbox of an independent office once your details have reached them.
12. Children
This site is for property owners 18 or older. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
13. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we publish the new text here and change the version below. Consent records written before the change keep pointing at the text that was shown at the time, so an older record stays meaningful.
